Background:
Green plastics, also known as bioplastics, are increasingly being recognized as an alternative to conventional plastics due to their potential to reduce environmental impact. This research will focus on exploring the development, application, and sustainability of green plastics, with the aim of contributing to the global efforts towards sustainable development and a circular economy.
Objective:
The primary objective of this position is to conduct in-depth research on green plastics, including their properties, production processes, market potential, and environmental impact. The researcher will also evaluate the feasibility of green plastics in various industrial applications and contribute to the development of recommendations for stakeholders.
Scope of Work:
1. Literature Review:
- Conduct a comprehensive review of existing literature on green plastics, including types, production processes, and applications.
- Identify key challenges and opportunities in the field of green plastics.
2. Data Collection & Analysis:
- Gather and analyze data on the environmental impact, cost-effectiveness, and market potential of green plastics in Palestine.
- Evaluate the lifecycle of green plastics compared to conventional plastics.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with industry experts, academic institutions, and environmental organizations to gather insights and validate research findings.
- Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and seminars.
4. Reporting:
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings.
- Develop policy briefs and recommendations based on research outcomes.
- Contribute to the publication of research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
5. Project Management:
- Assist in planning and coordinating research activities.
- Ensure timely delivery of research outputs as per project timelines.
Key Deliverables:

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data collection and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
