Introduction
Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) has received a grant from the Quality
Improvement Fund (QIF) - Education to Work Transition Project - Ministry of
Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project titled:
Professional Software Engineering Upgrade Unit. Accordingly, PPU seeks the
selection of a English language trainer to improve conversation English skills for
Computer Science students;.
Assignment Objective
The objective of the English Training course is to give inputs in conversation in
English listening, reading, writing, and speaking techniques for the English Language
skill enhancement to 50 students.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. The consultant should prepare a proper methodology and working plan to
conduct this assignment.
2. Conduct pre- assessment evaluation to assess the different levels of the
learners in addition to conduct post assessment to assess the levels of learners
after taking the training..
3. Development of participatory teaching training modules containing resource
materials and methodology for the delivery of the training.
4. Plan, prepare and deliver lessons for two groups of students
5. Advising student on career issues.
6. Collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to foster a good student
experience
Deliverables:
1. Approved methodology and working plan to conduct the assignment.
2. Holding a 140 hours training for the two groups of students (70 training hours
for each group)
3. A pretest and posttest regarding the mentioned course
4. A final version of the training materials..
5. Prepare and submit comprehensive report of the overall achievement including
pre and post evaluations, recommendations and training materials to the
project team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Qualified consultant should hold the following:
BA in English as a Second language or relevant fields of English literature,
and teaching.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a teacher/instructor in English.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Effective listening skills
Creative skills and ideas for planning practical and interesting lessons
Excellent planning and organization skills
Cultural sensitivity, tolerance and patience.
Time Frame: The expected level of effort for the English training Consultant is 145
working hours within the period from June 6th 2020 till August 1st 2020.
